Methanex Corporation is relocating two methanol plants from its Chile site to Geismar, Louisiana. The first plant, Geismar I, is expected to be operational by the end of 2014. The second plant, Geismar II, is expected to be operational by early 2016. About one year prior to start up, the Geismar I project would bring approximately 130 permanent full-time, high-skilled jobs. The Geismar II project is expected to add approximately 35 permanent full-time, high skilled jobs, bringing our total employment at the Geismar site to approximately 165 individuals.

The Operations team is charged with the responsibility of ensuring our plant sustains an acceptable level of reliability and is optimized to produce methanol in the most safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Simply put, the Procurement team is responsible for the sourcing and purchase of everything the company needs to operate. From goods and services to the development of vendor contracts, they are an essential support group.
